ASTM A240 316 stainless steel is a kind of austenitic stainless steel. The corrosion resistance and high temperature strength of ASTM A240 316 stainless steel are greatly improved by adding Mo element. The high temperature resistance can reach 1200-1300 ℃, it can be used under harsh conditions. It is better not to use ASTM A240 316 stainless steel continuously in the range of 427-857 ℃, but it has good heat resistance when ASTM A240 316 stainless steel is used continuously outside this temperature range.

The corrosion resistance of ASTM A240 316 stainless steel is better than 304 stainless steel. It has good corrosion resistance in pulp and paper making process. Moreover, ASTM A240 316 stainless steel is also resistant to the erosion of marine and corrosive industrial atmospheric. ASTM A240 316 is mainly used for manufacturing heat exchanger, dyeing equipment, film washing equipment, pipeline and external materials of buildings in coastal areas.
