S620QL1 steels specified in EN10025-6 document are applicable to hot-rolled flat products with a minimum nominal thickness of 3 mm and a maximum nominal thickness ≤ 150 mm. Compared with S620QL, the grade EN10025-6 S620QL1 requires the minimum values of impact energy at temperatures not lower than -60℃,while S620QL requires minimum values of impact energy at temperatures not lower than -40℃.
The steels S620QL1 specified in EN10025-6 do not have unlimited suitability for the various welding processes, since the behaviour of a steel S620QL1 during and after welding depends not only on the material S620QL1 but also on the dimensions and shape and on the manufacturing and service conditions of the components.
