ASTM A302 Grade B steel

ASTM A302 Grade B is a another manganese-molybdenum alloy steel plates intended particularly for welded boilers and other pressure vessels. The maximum thickness of ASTM A302 Grade B plates is limited only by the capacity of the chemical composition to meet the specified mechanical property requirements. And the carbon content is different according to the thickness of plates, C≤0.20% for THK≤25mm, C≤0.23% for THK 25~50mm, C≤0.25% for THK >50mm.

The steel ASTM A302 Grade B shall be killed and shall conform to the fine grain size requirement of Specification A20/A20M. For plates A302 Gr. B produced from coil and furnished without heat treatment or with stress relieving only, three test results are reported for each qualifying coil.
