ASTM A302 Grade A is a manganese-molybdenum alloy steel plates intended particularly for welded boilers and other pressure vessels. And ASTM A302 Grade A and Grade B have same chemical composition but with different mechanical property, the tensile strength for ASTM A302 Grade A is 515~655MPa while for Grade B is 550~690MPa; the yield strength for ASTM A302 Grade A is Min 310MPa while for Grade B is Min 345MPa.

The Plates in ASTM A302 Gr. A with thickness ≤50mm are normally supplied in the as-rolled condition and may be ordered normalized, normalized and tempered, or stress relieved conditions. And while the thickness of plates over 50mm, ASTM A302 Grade A shall be normalized or normalized and tempered condition.
