The maximum thickness of A203 Grade A Pressure Vessel plates is limited only by the capacity of the composition to meet the specified mechanical property requirements, however, current practice normally limits the maximum thickness of plates furnished under 150 mm.
If approved by the purchaser for A203 Gr. A, cooling rates faster than air cooling are permissible for improvement of the toughness, provided the plates are subsequently tempered at not less than 1100℉[595℃] for not less than ½ h.
Nickel alloy pressure vessel steel A203 Grade A which made from this kind of boiler steel plates can bare certain stress in the long term at higher temperatures.
A203 Grade A Boiler steel plates have the good toughness and low effectiveness of the tendency in the use of bending, roll edges and other cold deformation; after processing, storage and use after a long time A203 Grade A Pressure Vessel steel still maintaining good toughness, and good weld ability and resistance to inter granular corrosion.
