ASTM A285M “Standard Specification for Pressure Vessel Plates, Carbon Steel, Low- and Intermediate-Tensile Strength” is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee A01 on Steel, Stainless Steel and Related Alloys and is the direct responsibility of Subcommittee A01.11 on Steel Plates for Boilers and Pressure Vessels. There are three grade in the standard ASTM A285M--Grade A, B, C etc. Katalor always keeps thousands of steel pressure vessel plates including A285 plates.

ASTM A285GR. C is a kind of carbon steel plates of low-and intermediate-tensile strengths which may be killed or semi-killed at the producer’s option. These plates are intended for fusion-welded pressure vessels. A285GR.C Plates are normally supplied in the as-rolled condition, or normalized or stress relieved, or both.
In standard ASTM A285M, there are three types including plates of ASTM A285 Grade C. As to the Chemical composition, the different content is a main difference among three grade, while the carbon content of A285Gr. C is no more than 0.28%; as to the mechanical property, the difference among the three grade is tensile strength, while the tensile strength of ASTM A285 Gr.C is 380~515MPa (55~75 ksi).
Compare to the chemical content and mechanical property, the ASTM A285 Grade C plate is equivalent to plates of Grade Q345R in China's GB/T713.
