ASME SA573 Grade 65 steel

ASME SA537 covers structural quality carbon-manganese-silicon steel plates in three tensile strength ranges intended primarily for service at atmospheric temperatures where improved notch toughness is important. Katalor often offer the plates of A573 Grade 65 and the M.O.Q. of each size can be 6MT.

A537 Grade 65 plates are limited to a maximum thickness of 1.5 in. [40 mm]. If the steel is to be welded, it is presupposed that a welding procedure suitable for the grade of steel and intended use or service will be utilized. See Appendix X3 of Specification A6/A6M for information on weldability. The steel shall be made to fine grain practice. SA537 Gr. 65 plates furnished shall conform to the requirements of the current edition of SpecificationA6/A6M, unless a conflict exists in which case this specification shall prevail. For each reduction of 0.01% point below the specified maximum for carbon, an increase of 0.06% points above the specified maximum for manganese(0.85~1.2%) is permitted up to a maximum of 1.50 % for SA573 Grade 65.
