Characteristics of EN10120 P265NB Steel
Chemical Composition: The chemical composition of P265NB steel is precisely controlled, with major elements including carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), and trace amounts of titanium (Ti), niobium (Nb), etc., which are added to refine the grains and enhance performance. Its carbon content typically ranges from 0.16% to 0.19%, silicon content does not exceed 0.25%, manganese content falls between 0.4% and a certain upper limit, while phosphorus and sulfur contents are controlled below 0.025% and 0.015%, respectively.
Mechanical Properties: P265NB steel exhibits excellent mechanical properties, with a tensile strength ranging from 410 to 500 MPa and a yield strength of no less than 265 MPa (for steel plates with a thickness of less than 3 mm). The elongation varies depending on the gauge length but generally remains at a high level. These properties enable P265NB steel to withstand significant loads and pressures while maintaining good toughness.
Welding Performance: As a steel for welded gas cylinders, P265NB steel demonstrates good welding performance. It can fuse well with welding materials during the welding process, forming stable welds with minimal defects such as porosity and cracks. This is attributed to its precisely controlled chemical composition and special metallurgical processes.

Processing Performance: P265NB steel also exhibits good processing performance, including cutting, bending, and stamping. It maintains stable performance during various processing operations, meeting the requirements for different shapes and sizes.
