In order to eliminate residual stress and stabilize steel structure and size, it is particularly important to age steel components under low temperature or dynamic load. Q960F Quenching and tempering are often used in medium carbon (low alloy) structural steels, as well as in low alloy cast steels. In short, structural parts with high mechanical requirements should be tempered.
