Corten A steel is a kind of low alloy steel between ordinary steel and stainless steel. Corten A steel is made of ordinary carbon steel with adding a small amount of corrosion resistant elements such as copper and nickel. Corten A steel has the characteristics of toughness, ductility, forming, welding, abrasion, high temperature and fatigue resistance like high quality steel. The weather ability of Corten A steel is 2-8 times of ordinary carbon steel, and paintability is 1.5-10 times of ordinary carbon steel. At the same time, Corten A steel and corten B steel have the characteristics of rust resistance, corrosion resistance, life extension, thinning and consumption reduction, labor saving and energy saving.

Corten A steel can be used to manufacture low alloy structural steels for vehicles, bridges, towers, containers and other steel structures. Compared with ordinary carbon steel, Corten A steel has better corrosion resistance in atmosphere. Compared with stainless steel, Corten A steel has only a small amount of alloying elements, such as phosphorus, copper, chromium, nickel, molybdenum, niobium, vanadium, titanium and so on. The total amount of alloying elements is only a few percent, unlike stainless steel, which reaches more than 10 percent, so the price is relatively low.
