A131 AH36 is one of the Higher Strength—Grades AH with a specified minimum yield point of 46 ksi [315 MPa]. Shapes and bars are normally available as grades A131 AH36, AH32 and A. The steel A131 AH36 shall be killed. A131 AH36 shall be made using a fine grain practice and aluminum(vanadium, or columbium (niobium)) may be used for grain refinement. Plates ordered to Grades A131 AH32 shall be normalized, control rolled, thermo-mechanical control processed, or quenched and tempered.Charpy V-notch tests shall be made on Grade A131 AH36 over 1/4 in. [6.4mm] in thickness, and the frequency of Charpy V-notch impact tests shall be as given in Table 1 and Table 2. The test results shall conform to the requirements given in Table 7.
