On January 26, the World Iron and Steel Association (WISA) released data showing that global crude steel production reached 1.864 billion tons in 2020, a decrease of 0.9% from 2019.
In 2020, the annual crude steel output in Asia will reach 1.374.9 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.5%. Among them, China's crude steel output reached 1.053 billion tons, an increase of 5.2% year-on- year. China's crude steel output as a share of global crude steel output rose from 53.3% in 2019 to 56.5% in 2020. India's crude steel output was 99.6 million tons, down 10.6% year-on-year; Japan's crude steel output was 83.2 million tons, down 16.2% year-on-year; South Korea's crude steel production was 67.1 million tons, down 6.0% year-on-year.
