Spherical flat steel is a kind of special section steel, which is composed of flat web and spherical ball head, and is asymmetric section steel. flat bulb steel is mainly used in the field of shipbuilding and bridge building for medium profiles. Among them, the marine spherical flat steel is an auxiliary medium profile for shipbuilding. The main performance advantages of flat bulb steel are mainly reflected in the following aspects:
1. The flat bulb steel with the same weight can make higher webs, so the in-plane bending ability is stronger, but the out-of-plane bending ability is not as good as the angle steel. In terms of stability, because the force of the ship structure cannot be an absolute in-plane force, the bearing capacity of the spheroid is weak in some cases.
2. In terms of steel carrying capacity, from weak to strong, flat, angle steel, and T-shaped steel. For the same material, flat bulb steel is the best in terms of in-plane bending resistance. Therefore, for light structures, or secondary structures that mainly carry in-plane forces, spheroids are usually used; for primary structures, in-plane forces, shear and torque are usually used T-shaped; in between, angle steel is usually used.
