The differences between Q235 steel and 45 steel

Both Q235 steel and 45 steel belong to steel types, and they are different in the following aspects.

1. Q235 steel belongs to carbon structural steel, which refers to ordinary carbon structural steel with a yield strength of 235mpa. The main products include Q235 steel plate, Q235 welded pipe, Q235H section steel, Q235 angle steel and other profiles. 45 steel belongs to high-strength medium-carbon quenched and tempered steel among high-quality carbon structural steels, with an average carbon content of 0.45%. 45 steel does not contain specially included alloy elements. 45 steel is widely used in many fields.

2. The carbon content is different. The carbon content of Q235 steel is less than 20 parts per 10,000, and its welding performance and plasticity is good. The carbon content of 45 steel is 45 parts per 10,000. 45 steel has excellent mechanical properties and cutting performance, but poor welding performance.

3. Different properties: Q235 steel belongs to low-carbon steel, it has very high plasticity, but its strength is low, and Q235 steel is more suitable for stretching and rolling, such as making profiles, plates, etc.. 45 steel is medium-carbon steel, which can not only be quenched because of its high strength and hardness after heat treatment. 45 steel is more suitable for the production of mechanical parts, and it will also be used in occasions that require large forces and good wear resistance.

4. Different uses. Q235 steel is mainly used for steel components, including angle steel, channel steel, I-beam, steel plate, etc.. 45 steel is widely used in the production of mechanical parts, such as shafts, gears or high-strength bolts.
