Steelmaking process of SS400 steel

The first S of SS400 steel indicates steel, the second S indicates "structure", 400 is the lower limit tensile strength of 400MPa, and the overall indicates the general structural steel with tensile strength of 400MPa.

Steelmaking process of SS400 steel
1. Materials (scrap steel, pig iron and molten iron).
2. Electric furnace (100-ton electric arc furnace training), converter.
3. Purification of molten steel in LF furnace.
4. Vacuum treatment of molten steel in VD or VOD furnace
5. Die casting (various key type die casting lines) or continuous casting (large slab continuous casting machine); (one ingot remelting treatment 50 tons slab type electroslag furnace). 6. Heating (continuous furnace and soaking furnace). 7. Steel plate rolling (4100 and 4200mm mills). 8. Heat treatment of steel plate (normalizing and tempering). 9. Steel plate cutting inspection.

Because SS400 steel plate has a variety of high-quality properties, its high strength, high toughness, fatigue resistance, impact resistance, welding and easy processing properties are also deeply loved and recognized by the manufacturing industry. With social recognition, frequent use in manufacturing and continuous optimization and upgrading of materials by producers, SS400 steel plate has gradually become one of the commonly used steel plate grades.
