The report added: "by September 2019, the world crude steel production of 64 countries reported to the World Iron and Steel Association was 151.5 million tons, down 0.3% from September 2018."
According to the press release, China's crude steel production in September 2019 was 82.8 million tons, an increase of 2.2% over September 2018. Japan produced 8 million tons of crude steel in September 2019, down 4.5% from September 2018. South Korea's crude steel production in September 2019 was 5.7 million tons, down 2.7% from September 2018.
