According to the global crude steel production data for December 2022 released by the World Steel Association (WSA), in 2022, global crude steel production will reach 1.8785 billion tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.2%.
In terms of regions, in December 2022, Africa's crude steel output was 1.1 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.9%;
Crude steel production in Asia and Oceania was 104.9 million tons, down 9.2% year-on-year;
Crude steel production in the EU (27 countries) was 9.2 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 16.7%;
Crude steel production in other European countries was 3.4 million tons, down 19.2% year-on-year;
Crude steel production in the Middle East was 3.7 million tons, an increase of 0.4% year-on-year;
North American crude steel production was 8.8 million tons, down 9.9% year-on-year;
Crude steel production in Russia and other CIS countries + Ukraine was 6.2 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 28.4%;
Crude steel production in South America was 3.3 million tons, down 3.8% year-on-year.
From the perspective of the world's top 10 steel-producing countries, in December 2022, China's crude steel output was 77.89 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.8%;
India's crude steel production was 10.6 million tons, an increase of 0.8% year-on-year;
Japan's crude steel production was 6.9 million tons, down 13.1% year-on-year;
U.S. crude steel production was 6.5 million tons, down 8.3% year-on-year;
The estimated output of crude steel in Russia is 5.5 million tons, down 11.3% year-on-year;
Turkey's crude steel production was 2.7 million tons, down 20.0% year-on-year.
