In December 2021, the crude steel output of the 64 countries and regions included in the statistics of the World Steel Association was 158.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.0%. In 2021, the global crude steel output will be 1.9505 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%.
In December 2021, crude steel production in Africa was 1.2 million tons, down 9.6% year-on-year;
Crude steel output in Asia and Oceania was 11.61 million tons, down 4.4% year-on-year;
Crude steel production in the CIS region was 8.9 million tonnes, down 3.0% year-on-year;
Crude steel production in the EU (27) was 11.1 million tonnes, down 1.4% year-on-year;
Crude steel production in the rest of Europe was 4.3 million tonnes, down 0.8% year-on-year;
Crude steel output in the Middle East was 3.9 million tons, an increase of 22.1% year-on-year;
Crude steel production in North America was 9.7 million tons, an increase of 7.5% year-on-year;
Crude steel production in South America was 3.5 million tonnes, down 8.7% year-on-year.
