Global crude steel production decreased by 0.3% while China's increased by 2.2%

In September 2019, the crude steel output of 64 countries included in the World Steel Association's statistics was 151.5 million tons, down 0.3% year on year.

In the first nine months of 2019, the global crude steel output was 1.391.2 billion tons, an increase of 3.9% year-on-year. Among them, the crude steel output in Asia was 1.001 billion tons, an increase of 6.3% year-on-year; the crude steel output in EU was 122.5 million tons, a decrease of 2.8% year-on-year; the crude steel output in North America was 90.6 million tons, an increase of 0.3% year-on-year; the crude steel output in CIS was 76 million tons, a decrease of 0.1% year-on-year.

In September 2019, China's crude steel output was 82.8 million tons, up 2.2% year on year. India's crude steel production in September was 9 million tons, up 1.6% year on year. Japan's crude steel production in September was 8 million tons, down 4.5% year on year. South Korea's crude steel output in September was 5.7 million tons, down 2.7% year on year.

In the EU region, Germany's crude steel output in September was 3.4 million tons, down 4.0% year on year. In September, crude steel production in Italy was 2.2 million tons, up 1.1% year on year; in France, 1.2 million tons, down 10.2% year on year; in Spain, 1.2 million tons, down 1.0% year on year.

In September 2019, crude steel production in the United States was 7.1 million tons, down 2.5% year on year.

Brazil's crude steel output in September 2019 was 2.4 million tons, down 22.0% year on year.
Turkey's crude steel output in September 2019 was 2.7 million tons, down 6.9% year on year.
Ukraine's crude steel production in September 2019 was 1.7 million tons, down 2.3% year on year.
