S420M material under EN 10025-4 standard is Hot rolled products of structural steels. EN S420M steel is also a thermomechanical rolled weldable fine grain structural steels.
Differences between 35CrMo Steel and S420M Steel
Compared with the performance of 35CrMo steel, S420M steel strength and hardenability are better than 35CrMo steel due to the increased carbon and chromium content. S420M steel has high fatigue strength and resistance to multiple impacts after quenching and tempering, and good low temperature impact toughness. Obvious temper brittleness, generally used after quenching and tempering, can replace the quenched and tempered steel with higher nickel content.
