Carbon steel q345b is a Chinese standardized low alloy high strength steel made with a hot-rolling process. Carbon steel Q345B is a steel with less than 0.2 percent of its composition made up of carbon, less than 0.55 percent of its composition made of silicon and several impurities (mostly sulfur, chromium and nickel).
Carbon steel Q345B chemical composition:
Grade | C≤ | Mn | Si≤ | P≤ | S≤ | V | Nb | Ti | Al≥ |
Q345B | 0.20 | 1.00~1.60 | 0.55 | 0.040 | 0.040 | 0.02~0.15 | 0.015~0.060 | 0.20 | - |
Carbon steel Q345B is a 'general purpose' manufacturing steel for a number of manufacturing purposes. Carbon steel Q345B is used for sheet metal, light structural elements of household goods, and similar uses where it won't be used as a major structural component.
In order to form an interoperability with the European standard S355 series, the new standard version change carbon steel Q345B to Q355B.
