Application and Test of A633 Series Steel Plates

A633 steel plate has greater notch toughness at low ambient temperature compared with rolled material with similar strength.

A633 steel plates may require Charpy test requirements for specific regions and climates;
A633 steel plates can be multi-certified to API or ABS specifications in the mill test report, but can be guaranteed to meet the ASTM A633 standard.

A633 steel plate is a normalized high strength low alloy structural steel plate for welded, riveted or bolted structures. A633 steel plate is suitable for lower ambient temperature. In this environment, the required notch toughness is better than expected for rolled material of comparable strength. A633 steel plate has a good austenite grain size and is normalized by heat treatment. The chemical composition of A633 steel plates shall be determined by thermal analysis. A633 steel plates should also be subjected to tensile tests.

A633 steel plate is used in the manufacture of workshops, general buildings and various construction machinery. Such as drilling rigs, electric shovels, electric wheel dump trucks, mining vehicles, excavators, loaders, bulldozers, various cranes, coal mine hydraulic supports and other mechanical equipment and other structural parts for mines and various engineering constructions.
