A588GrK steel for welding bridges

A588GrK steel is a grade of the Nuclear Power Plant. It is a high-strength low-alloy structural steel suitable for welding, riveting or bolting. It is mainly used for welding bridges and buildings. It is very important to reduce weight or increase durability. In most environments, the atmospheric corrosion resistance of this steel is much better than that of carbon structural steel with or without copper.

A588Gr.K steel plates and sections are often used for welding, riveting and bolting structures, but it is mainly used for welding bridges and buildings that require weight reduction or longer life. This kind of steel has significantly better atmospheric corrosion resistance under most environmental conditions than carbon structural steels with or without copper. When completely exposed to the atmosphere, this steel is suitable for many occasions in the bare (uncoated) state.
