A387 Gr9 CL2 steel plate what is the heat treatment

ASTM A387 Gr9 CL2 material is American chromium-molybdenum alloy steel. This alloy steel is mainly used in the manufacture of petrochemical and thermal power plant equipment.

Delivery status of A387 Gr9 CL2 alloy steel plate (heat treatment):

a. The heat treatment method is annealing, normalizing and tempering, or when the purchaser agrees, the method of blast or liquid quenching is used to accelerate the cooling from the austenitizing temperature, followed by tempering. The lower limit of tempering temperature is 675℃.
b. When it is not specified that the heat treatment in accordance with the requirements of Article a is required, it shall be delivered in a stress-relieved or annealed state

Scope of application:

High-end petrochemical steel A387 Gr9 CL2 is a high-chromium alloy steel produced by American standards. It has the properties of preventing hydrogen embrittlement, hydrogen corrosion, hydrogen peeling, and sulfide corrosion, as well as good low temper embrittlement. A387 Gr9 CL2 steel plate is mainly used in the manufacture of petrochemical and thermal power plant equipment, such as ultra-high temperature petrochemical pipelines, ultra-high temperature reactors, etc.
