A36 Steel Plate Information and Impact Testing

ASTM-A36 is American Standard Steel Plate A36. A36 is an American standard carbon structural steel, and A36 steel plate is produced according to the ASME standard.

The yield of A36 steel plate is about 240MP, and the yield value will decrease with the increase of the thickness of the material. Due to the moderate carbon content, the comprehensive performance is good, and the strength, plasticity and welding performance are well matched, and the most widely used.

A36 steel plate impact test
The impact toughness test uses a Charpy V-notch specimen. The impact toughness index is Akv. For grades B, C, and D steels, Akv≥27J is required under their respective temperature requirements.

A36 is a plate and profile, which is widely used in structures such as brackets and feet. Riveted, bolted and welded structures for bridges and buildings, as well as structural steel quality carbon steel sections, plates and bars for general use.
