1. Different concepts
15CrMo alloy structural steel plate is a grade of heat-resistant steel with pearlitic structure. 15CrMo steel plate has high lasting strength below 500-550°C, good machinability and cold strain plasticity, and fair weldability. 15CrMo steel plate is generally used in normalizing and high temperature tempering state.
45 steel plate belongs to carbon structural steel, commonly known as high-quality steel. 45 steel plate does not contain alloying elements that are specially included. 45 steel plate is a widely used structural steel.
2. Different uses
15CrMo steel plate is generally used to manufacture boiler superheaters, medium and high pressure steam pipes and headers with steam temperature up to 510℃, main steam pipes with steam temperature up to 510℃, quenching and tempering after normalizing and high temperature tempering. After that, 15CrMo steel plate can be used to manufacture various important parts that work at room temperature.
45 steel plate is suitable for manufacturing high-strength moving parts, such as air compressors, pump pistons, steam turbine impellers, rolling shafts, connecting rods, worms, racks, gears, pins, etc. in heavy and general machinery.
3. The chemical composition is different
15CrMo steel plate chemical composition:
C 0.12~0.18%; Si 0.17~0.37%; Mn 0.40~0.70%; Cr 0.80~1.10%; Mo 0.40~0.55%.
45 steel plate chemical composition
C: 0.42%-0.50% Si: 0.17%-0.37% Mn: 0.50%-0.80% Cr: ≤0.25% Ni: ≤0.30% Cu: ≤0.25%
4. Different mechanical properties
15CrMo steel plate mechanical properties:
Tensile strength: 440 mpa; yield strength 295 mpa; elongation after breaking: 22%; shrinkage after breaking 60%; impact absorption energy 94J.
45 steel plate mechanical properties
Tensile strength 600mpa Yield strength 355mpa Elongation after fracture 16% Area shrinkage 40% Impact absorption energy 39J.
