Pressure vessel steel plate A633 Gr.A (customizable)

As a premium pressure vessel steel under the ASME standard, A633 Gr.A involves multiple aspects such as material properties, process parameters, and testing and verification when it is customized.

• Pressure Rating: According to ASME BPVC standards, pressure vessels are classified into 150/300/600 lb classes, with different requirements for the yield strength of the steel plate (e.g., 600 lb class corresponds to ≥380 MPa);

• Temperature Range: Impact energy needs to be considered in low-temperature environments (e.g., AKV≥40J at -20℃), while creep performance needs to be confirmed in high-temperature scenarios;

• Dimensional Accuracy: Thickness tolerance within ±0.2mm, flatness ≤0.1mm/m, to avoid waste in subsequent processing.

Material characteristics of A633 Gr.A steel:

Composition compliance: Carbon content ≤0.20%, with strict proportions of alloying elements such as manganese and molybdenum to ensure weldability and corrosion resistance;

Delivery condition: Commonly normalized (N) or normalized + tempered (N+T), the latter having higher tensile strength and suitable for high-pressure equipment;

Processing adaptability: Custom cutting and bending require allowance for stress release to avoid cold working cracks.
